Welcome to the Shaman King zine, a fan-run zine project to celebrate the wonderful series that is Shaman King!

Shaman King Zine is a SFW fanzine focusing on the manga and anime series by Hiroyuki Takei. This zine will feature original fan illustrations, stories, and merch relating to the characters and events from Shaman King. This zine will be a 50/50 charity / for-profit physical zine with merch. Shaman King Flowers content will be included as a digital-only add-on.

Here are answers to some commonly-asked questions about zines and specific questions for this zine. We'll add to it as we advance in the project and other questions are asked.Q. What will be in this zine?
Fanart, fanfic, and some physical merchandise. We are looking at an ~80 page, 5.5x8.5” book as our goal.Q. Will this zine be SFW or NSFW?
It'll be SFW. We do allow some content that might require warnings, but within canon limits (for example, a fight scene would require a violence warning, perhaps a blood one as well, and one of the bath scenes Takei uses so much would require a warning for near-nudity).Q. Will there be 2003 anime content in the zine?
Yes.Q. Will there be additional manga content adjacent to the main Shaman King story in this zine? (Mappa Douji, Zero, Remix Track)
Yes.Q. Will there be Flowers and adjacent content in this zine? (The Superstar, Marco’s, Red Crimson, etc)
This one is up for debate right now. The interest check results were divided on this topic, so we’ll get back to you on this as soon as we can.Q. Will there be AU content in this zine?
No.Q. Who can apply to participate in the zine?
Anyone who wants to! We have a page with application guidelines, please check them out if you are unsure of what to include in your application.Q. I don't have zine experience, can I still apply?
Of course! Past zine experience won't influence our choice in contributors.Q. Will this zine be for charity, for profit, or for both things?
It will be 50/50, half for charity and half for contributor compensation. We will soon provide a form for people to suggest charities.Q. Will contributors receive a copy of the zine?
That is the plan. A full physical copy of the zine will depend on the final budget after pre-orders are over, but every contributor will receive at least a free digital copy, and we’ll do our best to ensure they have a physical copy as well.Q. Will the zine have a digital version?
Yes.Q. Can contributors use their pieces after the zine is done?
Of course. Each contributor owns their own pieces, and can do as they please with them afterwards. We only ask that you wait until we give the go ahead (usually a few weeks once aftersales packages have shipped) before sharing your pieces, since we’d like to give everyone who buys the zine a chance to receive their copies first.
